Default What's the max resolution you can use ?

The Max Resolution I can put 1024X768 but my friend told me they use higher Resolution.

Is there a setup outside GW config (F11) where I can put a higher resolution ?

Thansk for the info.

Strange then, my LCD monitor support 1280X1024, in fact that's what I use in Windows but GW won't let me higher than 1024X768.

any suggestion ?

I really enjoy 1280x960 on a 17" crt. Very fine resolution.
As for OP's problem. Maybe it's your video drivers.

Either you don't have the mointer driver (specific) to your system loaded and it's running of "generic" mointer or GW is limited to 1024x768 (game engine wise). My Mointer can't support above 1024x768 so not sure if it is GW limitation.

The video takes the mointer specs that with the mointer driver and limits your choices to what's supported. Running mointer beyond specs can lead to fires. Most cards support large amount of resolutions so thinking less of an issue with video card / drivers but that is always possible.

I use a 1280x1024 Sony flat panel, and it uses the screen's normal resolution.

GW uses the desktop's native resolution, which is based on both the video card's and display's driver settings. Also verify that your DirectX drivers are up-to-date.

Same here! I could go 1600X1200. I cant figure out what my native resolution is. I thought it was 1280X1024 on this 20.1 Ultrasharp....maybe it is 1600X1200.

I'm so confused....

My friend's 2 Dell Ultrasharps could both hit 1600x1200... it's best to go see Dell's web site for the monitor specs if no longer have the original documentation.

I have. I have gotten two different specs. I believe it is 1280X1024 for native. 1600X1200 for max.

I don't know the max but I'm playing at 1920x1200 on my widescreen monitor. Looks nice.

Wow...

I have a LCD native 1280*1024.

However, I get to play with max settings, 4x anti-aliasing, at a consistant 60fps.

Ok..thanks! Yes the 1901FP was the best bang for the buck when I was checking out monitors at that time. I wanted something to replace my P911 Trintron 19" CRT that was starting to fade. The P991's max resolution was 1600X1200. So I saw that 2001FP and thought that is the perfect upgrade for me. I got it Door to Door for $559.00.

Now that is sweet. Is that the Dell 2405FPW 24" wide screen? My friend got that one on sale with a Dim 9100. It is a joy to play Guild Wars on. It was just to expensive for me at this time. Even with a discount. The Dell 2405FPW also has PiP that is very usefull for his work.
